My Recommended Wedding Suppliers in Northamptonshire

Following our outdoor vow renewal at Stanwick Lakes, a few people have asked who we used for different parts of the day. These are the wonderful suppliers who helped bring WeddingΒ² to life, and who we'd happily recommend to others.

Everything below is based on our genuine experience. We didn't receive any discounts, freebies or sponsorship in exchange for these recommendations.

Venue - Stanwick Lakes

We can’t recommend highly enough, from start to finish they couldn’t do enough for us - offering multiple catering options (we chose pizzas), running a bar and ice cream van, helping us to clear up... The staff were super friendly, accommodating and just wonderful. Plus: Stanwick Lakes is a 750-acre nature reserve, home to diverse habitats and abundant wildlife, including birds, insects, amphibians, reptiles and mammals. Income from our day helped support the running of the site - which felt far more meaningful to us than hiring a more traditional commercial venue.

Rachael - Celebrant

Full disclosure: Rachael is one of our closest friends, so yes - we're a little biased! But we'd recommend her even if we weren't. She was amazing from the off. Encouraging, enthusiastic, supportive, full of ideas and giving us things to think about that we’d not considered yet.

She wrote a deeply personal, romantic, at times emotional ceremony, helped us to write our vows, and was just fabulous from start to finish.

Marquee - Tipi Wedding Company

We love being outdoors but we wanted some cover if it rained, or we needed some shade. A marquee didn’t feel quite β€˜us’ though so a tipi it was! Tipi Wedding Company were fantastic, answered all my random questions with patience, came out to check the area was suitable, and then erected two interconnected tipis for us the day before the event. The tipis were stunning, everyone commented on how lovely and unique they were. It really added to the festival vibe we were hoping for.

Jordan – Photographer

If you're after natural wedding photography where you hardly notice the camera is there, Jordan was incredible. She captured laughter, hugs and little moments we'd completely forgotten about...

She was also friendly, engaging and supportive - doing little things like holding my prosecco for me, and even helping the staff to hand out pizza! Highly recommend.

DJ - Disco Rocks

Disco Rocks offer different DJ’s to suit your tastes and event - we selected 30 β€œmust-have” songs and they in turn sent us Richard, who was brilliant.

We had so much fun dancing - one of the pure joys in life - and the dance floor was rarely empty.

My Dress –
Yours Clothing

I wanted a dress that wasn’t a wedding dress - something comfortable, romantic and with a pattern (pure white so isn’t me! I’ve got more of a boho vibe) - and my floral dress from Yours Clothing was perfect. It felt completely like me, and I loved proving that you don't need to spend a fortune to feel amazing.

Artificial Flower Bouquets - Dunelm

I love fresh flowers, but they can be so expensive - and I was worried about them wilting in the heat. So I chose artificial bouquets from Dunelm, added a few embellishments, and they looked beautiful all day long and have since become keepsakes for both me and the bridesmaids. A few guests even asked if they were real!

Chair Hire - McGees

Friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic about our day - 80 chairs delivered and collected - highly recommend. McGees Event Hire >

Wedding Decor & Design Elements

We created most of the decor ourselves using colourful bunting, dreamcatchers, macramΓ© hangings, LED candles, artificial flowers and lots of little handmade details. It took time, but it also meant the day felt completely personal - and afterwards we were able to sell or reuse many of the decorations, making it a more sustainable choice.

I also designed our invitations, wedding programme and all of our signage using Canva (which is incredibly easy to use!). It gave us complete creative freedom, helped us create a consistent look throughout the day and kept costs down. Check out Canva >

We feel incredibly lucky to have worked with such brilliant people. If you're planning a wedding or vow renewal in Northamptonshire, we genuinely hope this list helps.
